PAGASA Weather News and Update Today

PAGASA Weather News and Forecast today cloudy skies with light to moderate rains and thunderstorms will be experienced over Metro Manila, Visayas, Ilocos region, Central Luzon, CALABARZON, MIMAROPA, Bicol region, Zamboanga Peninsula, Northern Mindanao and Caraga. Partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms will prevail over the rest of the country.

Moderate to occasionally strong winds blowing from the Southwest to Southeast will prevail over the western section of Luzon and coming from the southeast over extreme Northern Luzon. The coastal waters along these areas will be moderate to occasionally rough. Light to moderate winds blowing from Southeast will prevail over the rest of Luzon and coming from the southwest to west over Visayas and Mindanao with slight to moderate seas.

Cloudy skies with light to moderate rains and thunderstorms will be experienced over Metro Manila, Visayas, Mindanao and the provinces of Zambales, Bataan, Cavite, Batangas, Mindoro and Palawan. Partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated thunderstorms mostly in the afternoon or evening will prevail over the rest of Luzon. 


Moderate to occasionally strong winds blowing from the south will prevail over the western section of Luzon and its coastal waters will be moderate to occasionally rough. Elsewhere, winds will be light to moderate coming from the southwest to south with slight to moderate seas.

PAGASA Weather News at 4:00 AM today, a Low Pressure Area (LPA) was estimated based on all available data at 295 km east of Mindanao (08.5N, 129.0E) . It is embedded along the Intertropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ) across Visayas. 

Cloudy skies with light to moderate rains and thunderstorms will be experienced over MIMAROPA, Visayas and Mindanao. Partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated thunderstorms mostly in the afternoon or evening will prevail over Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon. 


Light to moderate winds blowing from the southeast to south will prevail over Luzon and coming from the southwest to south over the rest of the country. The coastal waters throughout the archipelago will be slight to moderate.

The regions of Ilocos, Cordillera, Cagayan Valley, Davao and Zamboanga Peninsula will have cloudy skies with light to moderate rainshowers and thunderstorms. Metro Manila and the rest of the country will be partly cloudy with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms mostly over the western section. 

Light to moderate winds blowing from the southeast to south will prevail over Luzon and coming from the east to southeast over the rest of the country. The coastal waters throughout the archipelago will be slight to moderate.

PAGASA Weather News and Update as of February 22, 2013



PAGASA Weather News and Update as of February 22, 2013 at 5 a.m. bulletin said the northeast monsoon is now affecting Luzon, including Metro Manila. Metro Manila, CALABARZON, MIMAROPA and the Province of Aurora will have cloudy skies with moderate to heavy rains which may trigger flashfloods and landslides. The rest of Luzon will be cloudy with light rains. Visayas and Mindanao will be partly cloudy with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms. 

The rain that fell on Metro Manila and parts of Luzon since early Friday is due to the northeast monsoon, although state weather forecasters said the weather may improve during the weekend.

Moderate to strong winds blowing from the northeast will prevail throughout the country and the coastal waters will be moderate to rough.

PAGASA Weather News and Update at 4:00 am today, the Low Pressure Area (LPA) was estimated based on all available data at 490 km Southeast of General Santos City (3.4° N, 129.0° E). Meanwhile, another Low Pressure Area (LPA) was estimated at 1,090 km East of Mindanao (6.6° N, 137.1° E). Tail-end of a cold front affecting Northern Luzon. 


Bohol, Leyte provinces and Mindanao will experience cloudy skies with moderate to heavy rainshowers and thunderstorms which may trigger flashfloods and landslides. The rest of Visayas will have cloudy skies with light to moderate rainshowers or thunderstorms. Ilocos Norte and Cagayan Valley will be cloudy with light rains. Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon will experience partly cloudy skies with brief rainshowers or thunderstorms. 

Moderate to strong winds blowing from the northeast to north will prevail throughout the archipelago and the coastal waters will be moderate to rough.

Typhoon Lawin still stronger in Tuguegarao City, PAGASA Weather News and Updates

PAGASA Weather News and Update as of September 26, 2012 at 4:00 am today, Typhoon "LAWIN" (JELAWAT) was located based on satellite and surface data at 465 km East of Tuguegarao City (17.3°N, 126.6°E) with maximum sustained winds of 205 kph near the center and gustiness of up to 240 kph. It is forecast to move Northwest at 11 kph.

Cagayan, Calayan, Babuyan and Batanes Group of Islands will experience stormy weather with rough to very rough seas. Ilocos Norte, Kalinga, Apayao and Isabela will have rains and gusty winds. MIMAROPA, Bicol Region and Visayas will experience cloudy skies with occasional moderate to heavy rains which may trigger flashfloods and landslides. Metro Manila, Calabarzon, Mindanao and the rest of Luzon will have occasional light to moderate rains and thunderstorms.

Moderate to strong winds blowing from the Northeast to Northwest will prevail over Central Luzon, Nueva Vizcaya and Quirino and coming from the Southwest over Southern Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao. The coastal waters throughout the archipelago will be moderate to rough.

PAGASA Weather Update: September 5, 2012


As of September 5, 2012, at 5:00 a.m. today, there is no tropical cyclone existing within the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR). The Low Pressure Area (LPA) was estimated based on satellite and surface data at 80 km East of Infanta, Quezon (14.7°N, 122.5°E). 

The whole country will experience mostly cloudy skies with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms becoming cloudy with widespread rains over Southern Luzon which may trigger flashfloods and landslides. 

Light to moderate winds blowing from the Northeast to Northwest will prevail over Luzon and coming from the South to Southwest over Visayas and Mindanao. The coastal waters throughout the archipelago will be slight to moderate.
