Bagyong Gener August 2, 2012 Weather Update


Bagyong Gener August 2, 2012 Weather Update. As of August 2, 2012 6:00 a.m. today, the eye of Typhoon "GENER" was located based on satellite and surface data at 405 km North of Basco, Batanes (24.6°N, 121.8°E). Maximum sustained winds of 130 kph near the center and gustiness of up to 160 kph. It is forecast to move North Northwest at 15 kph.

Luzon and Western Visayas will experience occasional rains becoming frequent over the western section of Luzon which may trigger flashfloods and landslides. The rest of the country will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms. 

Moderate to strong winds blowing from the Southwest will prevail throughout the archipelago and the coastal waters will be moderate to rough.

Bagyong Gener Update July 31, 2012


July 31, 2012 as of  6:00 a.m. today, Typhoon "GENER" was estimated based on satellite and surface data at 180 km East Northeast of Basco, Batanes (21.1°N, 123.7°E). Maximum sustained winds of 120 kph near center and gustiness of up to 150 kph. It is forecast to move North Northwest at 7 kph.

Batanes group of islands will experience stormy weather while Cagayan including Calayan and Babuyan group of islands will have rains with gusty winds and the coastal waters along these areas will be rough to very rough. The rest of Luzon and Visayas will experience occasional rains becoming more frequent over the western sections which may trigger flashfloods and landslides. Mindanao will be partly cloudy to cloudy with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms.

Moderate to strong winds blowing from the southwest will prevail over Central and Southern Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao and coming from the west to southwest over the rest of Northern Luzon. The coastal waters along these areas will be moderate to rough.

Bagyong Gener Weather Updates


As of July 30, 2012 at 5:00 a.m. today, Tropical Storm "GENER" was estimated based on satellite and surface data at 330 km East Northeast of Aparri, Cagayan (19.4°N, 124.9°E). Maximum sustained winds of 105 kph near center and gustiness of up to 135 kph. Forecast to move North Northwest at 11 kph. 

Cagayan including Calayan and Babuyan Rroup of Islands and Batanes Group of Islands will experience stormy weather while Isabela, Kalinga and Apayao will have rains with gusty winds and the coastal waters along these areas will be rough to very rough. The rest of Luzon will have cloudy skies with scattered to widespread rainshowers and thunderstorms which may trigger flashfloods and landslides. Visayas will be cloudy with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms while Mindanao will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms.

Moderate to strong winds blowing from the Southwest will prevail over Southern Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao and coming from the Northeast to Northwest over the rest of Luzon. The coastal waters throughout the archipelago will be moderate to rough.
