The LPA evolve into a tropical cyclone, it would be named
“Auring.” Pagasa said Metro Manila, the Cagayan Valley and the provinces of
Aurora and Quezon will experience cloudy skies with light rains brought by the
amihan (northeast monsoon) affecting Luzon. The rest of the country will be
partly cloudy with brief rainshowers or thunderstorms.
As of January 3, 2013 at 2:00 AM today, the Low Pressure
Area (LPA) was estimated in the vicinity of Sta. Josefa, Agusan del Sur (8.0°N,
126.0°E). Northeast Monsoon affecting Northern Luzon.
Visayas and Mindanao will have cloudy skies with moderate to
heavy rainshowers and thunderstorms which may trigger flashfloods and
landslides. Metro Manila, Calabarzon, Mimaropa and Bicol Region will be cloudy
with light to moderte rainshowers and thunderstorms. Cagayan Valley and the
Province of Aurora will experience cloudy skies with light rains. The rest of
Luzon will be partly cloudy with brief rainshowers or thunderstorms.
Moderate to strong winds blowing from the northeast will
prevail throughout the archipelago and the coastal waters will be moderate to
rough.
