PAGASA Weather News and Updates for Typhoon Lawin


PAGASA Weather  News and Updates for Typhoon Lawin, as of September 28, 2012 at 5:00 am today, the eye of Typhoon "LAWIN" (JELAWAT) was located based on satellite and surface data at 220 km Northeast of Itbayat, Batanes (21.9°N, 123.9°E) with maximum sustained winds of 185 kph near the center and gustiness of up to 220 kph. It is forecast to move North at 13 kph.

Signal #2: Calayan & Babuyan Group of Islands
Signal #1: Cagayan, Ilocos Norte & Apayao


Calayan, Babuyan and Batanes Group of Islands will experience stormy weather with rough to very rough seas. Ilocos Norte, Cagayan and Apayao will have rains with gusty winds. MIMAROPA will experience cloudy skies with occasional moderate to heavy rains and thunderstorms. Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon and Visayas will have occasional light to moderate rains and thunderstorms. Mindanao will be partly cloudy with brief rainshowers or thunderstorms. 

Moderate to strong winds blowing from the Northwest to West will prevail over Nueva Vizcaya, Benguet, La Union, Ilocos Sur, Mt. Province and Quirino and coming from the Southwest over the rest of Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao. The coastal waters throughout the archipelago will be moderate to rough.

Typhoon Lawin still stronger in Tuguegarao City, PAGASA Weather News and Updates


Patuloy pa rin ang paglakas ang super Typhoon Lawin. Ito ay huling namataan sa layong 465 km east of Tuguegarao City.

PAGASA Weather News and Update as of September 26, 2012 at 4:00 am today, Typhoon "LAWIN" (JELAWAT) was located based on satellite and surface data at 465 km East of Tuguegarao City (17.3°N, 126.6°E) with maximum sustained winds of 205 kph near the center and gustiness of up to 240 kph. It is forecast to move Northwest at 11 kph.

Cagayan, Calayan, Babuyan and Batanes Group of Islands will experience stormy weather with rough to very rough seas. Ilocos Norte, Kalinga, Apayao and Isabela will have rains and gusty winds. MIMAROPA, Bicol Region and Visayas will experience cloudy skies with occasional moderate to heavy rains which may trigger flashfloods and landslides. Metro Manila, Calabarzon, Mindanao and the rest of Luzon will have occasional light to moderate rains and thunderstorms.

Moderate to strong winds blowing from the Northeast to Northwest will prevail over Central Luzon, Nueva Vizcaya and Quirino and coming from the Southwest over Southern Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao. The coastal waters throughout the archipelago will be moderate to rough.

PAGASA Weather News and Update for Bagyong Lawin as of September 24, 2012


PAGASA Weather News and Update for Bagyong Lawin as of September 24, 2012 at 4:00 a.m. today, Typhoon "LAWIN" (JELAWAT) was located based on satellite and surface data at 480 km East of Legaspi City (13.2°N, 128.6°E) with maximum sustained winds of 175 kph near the center and gustiness of up to 210 kph. It is forecast to move north northwest at 7 kph. 

MIMAROPA, Bicol Region, Visayas and Mindanao will experience cloudy skies with occasional moderate to heavy rains which may trigger flashfloods and landslides. Metro Manila, CALABARZON and Central Luzon will have occasional light to moderate rains and thunderstorms. Northern Luzon will be partly cloudy with brief rainshowers or thunderstorms. 

Moderate to strong winds blowing from the North to Northwest will prevail over the Bicol Region and Eastern Visayas and coming from the West to Southwest over the rest of Visayas and Mindanao. The coastal waters along these areas will be moderate to rough. Light to moderate winds coming from the Northeast to northwest over the rest of Luzon with slight to moderate seas.
