Manny Pacquiao and Jinkee, thankful for their 5th child

Manila - Filipino boxing icon Manny Pacquiao and his wife Jinkee are expecting their fifth child.

Jinkee confirmed the news exclusively to ABS-CBN News' Dyan Castillejo on Tuesday, at the sidelines of her daughter Princess' 7th birthday party at a Mandaluyong orphanage.

If it's God's will, syempre tatanggapin mo. We're very thankful that God gave us a new addition to our family," Jinkee said, adding she is more or less three months pregnant.
Manny and Jinkee have four children -- Jimuel, Michael, Princess and their youngest, Queenie, who was born in December 2008.

Referring to the unplanned pregnancy, Jinkee said, "Iniisip ko naman, if ever, okay lang. I'm thankful."

"Minsan kasi, tayo, sasabihin, 'Ay, ayoko na kasi apat na.' Pero if God wants [for you] to have more, why not? Tatanggapin natin," Jinkee said.

Asked whether she hopes to have a boy or a girl, Jinkee said, laughing, "Boy, para may ano sila...

Jinkee, who was recently elected Sarangani vice-governor, also finds reason to be thankful for a peaceful family life, after having dealt with controversies related to her marriage.

"I'm very happy, by God's grace. 'Yun talaga 'yung pinagpapasalamat ko, kasi parang answered prayer. I can't ask anything more to the Lord, because he gave us everything already -- the peace of mind, everything.

"All the material things in this world, kung ano man 'yung ginagawa mo, you're busy but you're empty, unhappy. The best thing is you have the family intact," she said. 'Giving back' Holding Princess' birthday at an orphanage, Jinkee said, is also her family's way of giving back. She vowed never to host extravagant parties again, and instead organize celebrations that will benefit the less fortunate.

Kaya we give the glory to God naman, kasi 'yun 'yung utos niya sa atin -- help the needy, shelter the homeless, feed the hungry. We should look out not for our own interest, not for our own always, but for the good of others, for the interest of others," she said.

Jinkee added: "Parang nakakagaan ng loob, ng puso that you're a blessing to others also. You're not being blessed, but you are a blessing also."

The Pacquiaos have made headlines time and again for hosting extravagant parties usually to celebrate Manny's birthday. A number of these high-profile gatherings reportedly cost P1 million.

Manny, who is also the congressman of Sarangani, echoed Jinkee's sentiment about organizing big celebrations. He said he also hopes to instill the value of helping others in his four children.

Asked if he is eyeing a specific career path for his children, Manny only brought up the importance of having a strong religious foundation.
