PAGASA Weather News and Update as of September 27, 2012 at 4:00 a.m today, the eye of Typhoon "LAWIN" was located based on satellite and surface data at 350 km East of Calayan Group of Island (19.5°N, 125.1°E) with maximum sustained winds of 205 kph near the center and gustiness of up to 240 kph. It is forecast to move Northwest at 13 kph.
Cagayan, Calayan, Babuyan and Batanes Group of Islands will experience stormy weather with rough to very rough seas. Abra, Ilocos Norte, Kalinga, Apayao and Isabela will have rains and gusty winds. Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon and Visayas will experience cloudy skies with occasional light to moderate rains and thunderstorms. Meanwhile, Mindanao will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with occasional light to moderate rains or thunderstorms.
Moderate to strong winds blowing from the Northeast to Northwest will prevail over Central Luzon, Nueva Vizcaya and Quirino and coming from the Southwest over Southern Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao and the coastal waters along these areas will be moderate to rough.
