PAGASA Weather Update August 4, 2012


As of August 4, 2012 at 8:00 a.m. today, the Low Pressure Area (LPA) was estimated based on satellite and surface data at 1,170 km east of Northern Luzon (17.0°N, 135.0°N). Southwest Monsoon affecting Luzon and Western Visayas.
Luzon and Visayas will have mostly cloudy skies with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms becoming cloudy with widespread rains over the western section of Luzon which may trigger flashfloods and landslides. Mindanao will be partly cloudy to cloudy with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms.

Moderate to strong winds blowing from the southwest will prevail throughout the archipelago and the coastal waters will be moderate to rough.
