Yasutaka Ishimoto won a majority decision over 10 rounds, on scores 95-95, 94-95, 93-96. BLH had it 97-92 for Ishimoto. The New WBO International Title Super Bantamweight Champion Ishimoto won a majority decision in the Super Bantamweight (122 lbs).
The underdog won the fight on the strength of a sudden knockdown at the end of the eighth round, popping Vazquez with a right hand on the button that sent the Puerto Rican to the canvas. Vazquez got up and fought on, but Ishimoto (22-6, 5 KO) just had his number for too much of the fight, pushing the action, throwing tons of combinations, and making Vazquez (22-3-1, 19 KO) look a bit lost at times.
