PAGASA Weather News and Update for Tropical Storm "AMANG" {Mekkhala} was estimated based on all available data at 575 km East of Borongan City, Eastern Samar (12.0˚N, 130.7˚E), with maximum sustained winds of 75 kph near the center and gustiness of up to 90 kph. It is forecast to move West at 19 kph. Northeast Monsoon affecting Luzon.
The regions of Caraga and Eastern Visayas will experience cloudy skies with light to moderate rains while the rest of Visayas and Mindanao will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rains. Thunderstorms are likely to occur over these areas. Cagayan valley will be cloudy with light rains while Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon will be partly cloudy to at times cloudy with isolated light rains.
Moderate to strong winds blowing from the Northeast to North will prevail over Mindanao and eastern section of Visayas and from the northeast over the rest of the country with moderate to rough seas.
