PAGASA Weather News and Update for Tropical Storm LANDO at 4:00 pm today, the center of Severe Tropical Storm LANDO was estimated based on all available data at 45 km West Southwest of Laoag City, Ilocos Norte (18.0N, 120.2E) with maximum sustained winds of 105 kph near the center and gustiness of up to 135 kph. It is forecast to move North Northeast at 5 kph.
Stormy weather is expected over the provinces of Ilocos Norte, Ilocos Sur, Abra, Apayao, Kalinga, Mt. Province, Cagayan including Calayan and Babuyan group of islands. Rains with gusty winds will prevail over Batanes, rest of Ilocos, Cordillera and Cagayan Valley regions, Zambales, Tarlac, Pampanga, Nueva Ecija and Aurora. Cloudy skies with light to moderate rains will be experienced over Metro Manila, rest of Luzon, Western Visayas and Zamboanga peninsula. Partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated thunderstorms will prevail over the rest of the country.
Moderate to strong winds blowing from the northwest to west will prevail over the rest of Luzon and coming from the southwest over Visayas and Mindanao with moderate to rough seas.
