Magnitude 5.6 Earth Quake Hits Luzon Area of the Philippines. A magnitude 5.6 Philippines earthquake jolted Metro Manila and several parts of Luzon at around 7:52 p.m. on Wednesday, June 25, 2014.

Meanwhile, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology reported that the temblor was tectonic in origin. Its epicenter was located 22 km southwest of Calatagan, Batangas.

Intensity V: Puerto Galera, Or. Mindoro; Batangas City; Looc, Lubang, Mamburao, Sablayan, Abra de Ilog, (Occ. Mindoro)

Intensity IV: Malolos, Bulacan; Tagaytay City; Mabini, Batangas; Indang, Rosario (Cavite); Naujan, San Teodoro, Pola, Socorro (Or. Mindoro)

Intensity III: Quezon City; Pasig City; Taguig City; Manila City; Paranaque City; Bacoor, Cavite; Baco, Or. Mindoro; San Jose, Occ. Mindoro; Talisay,

Batangas, Taal Volcano Island.

Intensity II: Binangonan,Rizal; Lucban, Quezon; Makati City; San Pedro, Laguna.

Intensity I: Caloocan City

There were no immediate reports of casualties and damage to properties.

According to the U.S. Geological Survey, the quake struck about 400 kilometers away from the capital city. It has a depth of 77 km.
